What is the Latin name for "shanka pushpi"?

Posted by: vanvi at 2007-03-18

Hi I'm a medical doctor and would like to know which is the latin name for shanka pushpi.

I found it in a formula for glaucoma treatment in Vasant's book ayurvedic home remedies.

I don't know where to post this question Thanks

Some times it is also referred to as "Shanka Pushpi"

If what you are referring to here is indeed the herb "Shankha Pushpi," the Latin name for the herb "SHANKHA PUSHPI" is CONVOLVULUS Pluricaulis.

The first word in that name (SHANKHA) means "Shell" as in Sea-Shell, or as in "Shell Fish"

The second term "PUSHPI" denotes a Flower or part of a Flower.
